EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY SERVICES

The Rehab Bar offers many funded services - Medicare, DVA, My Aged Care, NDIS, WorkCover, and Injury Insurance. We also accept Private Health Funds. These can be delivered face to face or via online telehealth.

Medicare

We welcome Medicare referrals, also referred to as a Care Plan, from your general practitioner. You can access up to 5 allied health sessions each year. Currently, these sessions are bulk billed, but starting January 1, 2025, there will be a small gap fee of $30.

If you have Type 2 Diabetes, you are entitled to 8 group sessions per year after completing an initial assessment with the Exercise Physiologist.  These sessions can be used in the ForeverFit group classes.

Veterans

Our exercise physiologists understand the complex needs of veterans, including service-related injuries, chronic pain conditions, PTSD, and the transition challenges from military to civilian life.  At The Rehab Bar, we proudly welcome ADF veterans and strive to deliver an outstanding healthcare experience. To access our services, you need to possess a white card or gold card and a D904 Referral from your GP or Specialist.

Aged Care

To access exercise physiology services through My Aged Care, individuals or their caregivers may contact the My Aged contact center or visit the My Aged Care website to complete an assessment. This assessment will ascertain the individual's eligibility and the level of funding available for exercise physiology services.  For those with a Home Care Package who wish to integrate our 'Exercise Physiology' services into their plan, we recommend consulting with your HCP provider.

NDIS

The NDIS provides support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. Exercise Physiology services may be included in a person's NDIS plan based on their specific needs and objectives.  We can assist you in:

  • Enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness.
  • Improving c
  •  Minimizing the risk of secondary health issues
  • Fostering social interaction and mental well-being.

WorkCover & Insurance

Injured yourself at work or in an accident?   Exercise physiology plays a crucial role in WorkCover rehabilitation by providing evidence-based, tailored exercise programs that accelerate recovery and facilitate safe return to work. Our accredited exercise physiologists conduct comprehensive assessments to understand your specific injury, work demands, and functional limitations, then design progressive exercise interventions that rebuild strength, improve mobility, and restore work-specific move

Online Services

If you don't live locally or you unable to travel to the clinic for your appointment, you can still have your appointment via telehealth.

Ideally you would have a computer, tablet or smartphone with reliable internet connection with a camera so that we are able to see each other to ensure that exercises are done correctly.  Equipment or gym membership is not necessary as we can tailor your exercise program for your needs with what is available to you.
